Paolo Voices worry
PAOLO NUTINI's throat was being examined by a top Harley Street doctor yesterday - 24 hours later than planned.
The daft Scots singer, a proud fellow countryman, missed a crucial appointment on Thursday because he was too hungover.
Glad to hear he's doing his bit for the national stereotype.
But the star ended up worrying about his voice all day and was desperate to get to the doc's yesterday.
Paolo, whose album Sunny Side Up has been one the of the year's best sellers, is worried an old problem with nodules on the vocal cords has come back to haunt him.
Luckily a minor op will sort things out, even if it has.
I bumped into a sheepish Paolo at J Sheekey's fish restaurant in London on Thursday night.
He was taking it easy and went home early so he'd be in good shape for yesterday's appointment.
Luckily Paolo has a new girlfriend to look after him.
The Paisley-born crooner, has split up with long-term lover Teri Brogan and is now dating a pretty blonde from Glasgow.
We were sat at a table next to RONNIE WOOD and his Brazilian girl Ana Araujo.
Ronnie must have smoked 20 cigarettes, getting up from his table every five minutes, but he wasn't drinking much. They woolfed down oysters then fish and chips before heading into the night.

PAOLO NUTINI was last night back together with the girl who inspired his hit Last Request.
The singer was spotted with girlfriend Teri Brogan back on his arm.
They stopped seeing each other at the start of the month after Paolo, 23, admitted they were having a rough time.
But the lovebirds - who first fell for each other aged 15 - arrived together at MacSorleys bar in Glasgow city centre last night.
They were out for a special Rock Ness evening hosted by drug smuggler turned-celebrity Howard Marks, who will run a bar at the summer festival.
Tanned Paolo, who was sporting a new short hairdo and clean cut appearance, and model Teri seemed to have got over their differences as a guest told them they were a "lovely couple".
Paolo who has previously said his girlfriend is "an addiction" was keeping tight lipped about the situation.
He said: "I can't comment about us but I am having a great time tonight and it's been great meeting Howard Marks."
The couple spent the rest of the night laughing at Howard's tales of debauchery before he appears at the Rock Ness festival from June 11-13.
An insider revealed: "Paolo and Teri are back together and just got back tonight so they are very happy. Theirs was never a big break up like Ashley and Cheryl's. They have a lot of love for one another and it's great they have resolved their difficulties."
They had split after the Brit Awards, where Paolo was nominated for best male for his No1 album Sunny Side Up.
Paolo said at the time: "Things aren't good between us. We've had some ups and downs before so hopefully we'll be OK."
Then model Teri set her relationship status on Facebook to "single".
She admitted at the time: "We are going through a hard time. It's undecided. It is a personal matter, I can't tell you anything."

MODEL PUTS HER FACEBOOK STATUS AS SINGLE
SUNNY Side Up singer Paolo Nutini has split from his teen sweetheart Teri Brogan, the News of the World can reveal.
Pals say the glamorous couple had been going through a rough patch recently.
They were together at the Brit Awards earlier this month but afterwards Paolo admitted: "Things aren't good between us.
"We've had some ups and downs before so hopefully we'll be OK. I'm not in the best place right now."
And now model Teri - the inspiration for several songs including 2006 hit Last Request - has set her relationship status on Facebook to 'single'. Yesterday she admitted: "We are going through a hard time. It's undecided.
"It is a personal matter, I can't tell you anything."
The 23-year-olds first dated when they were 15 and moved into a swish £285,000 flat in their native Paisley last August.
Marketing graduate Teri is credited with keeping Paolo grounded even as second album Sunny Side Up soared to No1. He's said that touring and having a girlfriend "don't go hand-in-hand" but insisted she's his "addiction".
Paolo's spokesman declined to comment last night.

PAOLO NUTINI - PAOLO NUTINI NO SEX SYMBOL
Paolo Nutini believes girls are disappointed when they meet him because he is ''just a normal guy''.
Paolo Nutini can't understand why people find him sexy.
The 'Coming Up Easy' singer is bemused by the attention he gets from girls and is convinced they are always left disappointedwhen they meet him.
He said: "I don't think I'll ever get it all. It's baffling. I get a nice haircut once a year but after eight days I start looking like Frodo from 'Lord of the Rings'! People tell me I'm a heartthrob, but I don't get it at all. I don't recognise that.
"Groups of girls want to talk to me all the time and they'll be poking each other in the ribs saying, 'No, you talk to him, not me.'
"But when they do pluck up the courage to say something, they're really disappointedmost of the time. They say stuff like, 'Ah, he's just a normal guy.' "
Despite all the attention he receives from the opposite sex, Paolo is happily settled with long-term girlfriend Terri Brogan, who he has been dating for six years.
The 22-year-old musician added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "She's dynamite. I wouldn't have someone to write songs about and songs for if she wasn't around. I love her. We've just bought a house together. We just sit around and do normal stuff.
"She's given me so much. She's brought something out of me at an age that made me think about things in a very romantic way."
